five Boston Marathon champions.
"Each year the B.A.A. welcomes strong, competitive, and talented fields to
Hopkinton, with athletes ready to race for 26.2 miles," said Mary Kate
Shea, B.A.A. Director of Professional Athletes & Technical Support in a
release. "This year's field is among the fastest and most decorated
professional fields in history, and we anticipate an exciting race from
start to finish on Patriots' Day."

Patriots' Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts—and will feature 30,000
participants, including Lund.
"All of us at the Boston Athletic Association are eager to welcome every
member of the 127th Boston Marathon women's professional field to Boston,"
said Jack Fleming, President and Chief Executive Officer of the B.A.A.
"Another chapter of Boston Marathon history will unfold on the roads of
Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline and

Lund broke the Bismarck Marathon's Half Marathon record in 2021 with a time
of 1:16.34. Because the Bismarck Marathon's course is USATF-certified,
runners can qualify for the aforementioned Boston Marathon and the NYC
Marathon as well. Her personal best is 2:39:23.
Lund is also a member of the Bismarck Marathon's volunteer board, which
discusses important changes to the event.
As a 501(c)3 organization, the Bismarck Marathon gives back to local
charities, specifically charities that benefit youth, health, and wellness,
we give back every year. Since 2007, the race has given over $300,000.
The 2023 race weekend will be the 42nd for North Dakota's longest-running
marathon and will be held September 14-16. Registration will reopen on
April 1.
