Novant Health Commits to Thunder Road as Marathon Title Sponsor
Charlotte, NC - It takes commitment to run a marathon, and Novant Health
has made a big one in signing on as title sponsor of the Thunder Road
Marathon. The three-year deal secures naming rights and premiere healthcare
services for the now Novant Health Thunder Road Marathon, which celebrates
ten years running this November.
"This is a partnership built on a shared commitment to support better
health and wellness in Charlotte," said race director Tim Rhodes. "Novant
Health's three year sponsorship to the marathon means we'll be well on our
way to guaranteeing another ten years as Charlotte's premier running
event."

Rhodes says the agreement with Novant Health shows that the business
community at-large recognizes the impact the marathon has on Charlotte.
Corporate team involvement and sponsorship have been some of the fastest
growing aspects of the event.

In addition to getting top billing, Novant Health will continue to act as
the event's Official Healthcare Provider at the start and finish, as well
as along the course. Thunder Road beneficiaries will again this year
include Novant Health Hemby Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House
of Charlotte. Last year, runner and corporate team contributions resulted
in $50,000 to support these hometown agencies.
Saturday, November 15, 2014 marks the 10th running of the now Novant Health
Thunder Road Marathon. The marathon, half marathon and 5K events mean more
than $1 million annually to the local economy, and attract runners, their
families and friends from the all over the country. All events start and
finish uptown, with the 26.2 mile marathon course showcasing some of
Charlotte's most noteworthy and eclectic neighborhoods, in Dilworth, Myers
