Dallas Marathon Kickoff Run and Epic 80's Party
Presented by Miller Lite Set for June 4
Fun Run, Music From Live 80, and After Party at White Rock Lake
to Open Registration Season for 2014 MetroPCS Dallas Marathon
May 15, 2014 (Dallas, TX) - The Dallas Marathon organization announced
registration is now open for the Kickoff Run and Epic 80's Party Presented
by Miller Lite, a fun run scheduled for National Running Day on Wednesday,
June 4. The 4.4K fun run, celebrating the 44th running of the MetroPCS
Dallas Marathon, will be held at Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake and will
kick off registration season for the 2014 MetroPCS Dallas Marathon, Half
Marathon, 5-Person Relay, SMU Cox Corporate Relay Challenge presented by
Behringer and Cigna Mayor's Race 5K Presented by Oncor. The event will
feature entertainment for participants including:
- Post-race party with free beer
- Live music from the band Live 80, Dallas' popular 80s cover band
- 80s-themed costume contest
- Food trucks
Registration for the Kickoff Run and Epic 80's Party Presented by Miller
Lite is $20 and includes a training shirt, race bib, finisher giveaway and
access to the post-race party with beer provided by Miller Lite (for those
21 and over with a valid government ID). Participation in the kick off race
will be capped.
"The Kickoff Run and Epic 80's Party Presented by Miller Lite will be a
great opportunity for Dallas' running community to celebrate National
Running Day on June 4 and launch registration for the 2014 MetroPCS Dallas
Marathon in an entertaining fashion," said Patrick Byerly, president of the
Dallas Marathon. "We anticipate a great turnout with a lot of 80s-themed
fun for each participant."

Registration for the 2014 MetroPCS Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon, 5-Person
Relay, SMU Cox Corporate Relay Challenge presented by Behringer and the

on registration prices for 2014 will be announced in the coming weeks.
