MERCY HEALTH GLASS CITY MARATHON DISCOUNTED EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION OPEN
REGISTER NOW TO BE A PART OF THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY
TOLEDO, OH September 9, 2015 -- Registration is now open for the 2016 Mercy
Health Glass City Marathon taking place on Sunday, April 24, 2016. Early
Bird Registration will end December 31, 2015. As a result of the success
of the 39th annual Glass City Marathon, the Toledo Roadrunners Club donated
over $50,000 to local charities including Great Lakes Collaborative for
Autism, Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, Kid's Unlimited, Family House,
Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo, Girls on the Run, Adopt America
Network, Hannah's Socks, Racing for Recovery, Josina Lott Residential and
Community Services, and Goodwill of NW Ohio. Register now at

The 2015 Glass City Marathon consisted of over 8,250 participants
representing 42 of the 50 states along with Canada, Kenya, China, Poland
and Iceland as well as 42 elite runners. Over 400 children ages 2-12
participated in the Findley Davies Kids Marathon. The Mercy Health Glass
City Marathon continues to grow as a signature event for the region as well
as acting as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The Mercy Health Glass
City Marathon course consistently ranks among the top 25 fastest courses in
the United States in qualifying runners to Boston.
Race participants are encouraged to register early to ensure that they
secure their spot in this 40th anniversary race. To celebrate this major
milestone, several anniversary surprises are in store including course
changes to accommodate a larger race field and a starting line in front of
the iconic Bell Tower on Bancroft Street. Since 2010, the Glass City
Marathon has experienced consistent sold out capacity for the Owens Corning
Half-Marathon event and 5- person marathon relay.
The 2016 Mercy Health Glass City Marathon is a family event offering
multiple runs to fit every level of participant including a Marathon, the
Owens Corning Half Marathon, 5-Person Marathon Relay, 5K and the Findley
Davies Kid's Marathon. Dave's Performance Footgear is once again the
official training team for the Marathon and Owens Corning Half Marathon.
The training runs provide heart rate coaching and support to help you
accomplish your running goal.
Discounted early bird registration for the 2016 Mercy Health Glass City
Marathon is open now through December 31, 2015. Normal and late
registration is available until April 23, 2016. No registrations will be
