GAME ON! 2016 Little Rock Marathon Winners are In!
Little Rock, Ark. - Thirty-year-old Bryan Morseman of Bath, N.Y., is the
winner in the Male Division and Tia Stone, age 37, of Searcy, is the winner
of the Female Division of the of the 2016 Little Rock Marathon.
Morseman sailed through the finish line on Main Street in downtown Little
Rock at an unofficial time of 2:27:15; unofficial pace time, 5:37 per mile.
"It feels good to win," said Morseman, who finished second in the men's
division in 2014. He said he was determined to come back to Little Rock and
win. "I'm glad I did, because this is a great course and a great race … it
has been such a memorable experience."
Morseman is a regular on the marathon circuit - and ran a 50K marathon last
weekend in Fort Worth.
Stone finished in just over three hours, with an unofficial time of
3:00:23. She says today is her third marathon, "… running, finishing, and
winning the Little Rock Marathon was always my goal."
Stone coaches runners in the Central Arkansas area and hosts a blog, titled
"Arkansas Runner Mom." "My husband is my biggest fan … he and my kids come
to the races and my kid have started running 5K's."
Taking second place in the Male Division was Dong Ruihuang, age 26,
Changchun City, Jilin Province, China; finishing with an unofficial time of
2:43:02. Following in third place was Thomas J. Smith, age 48, of
Wethersfield, Conn., with an unofficial time of 2:43:50.
For the Female Division, Erin Bellissimo of Little Rock finished second
with an unofficial time of 3:07:53. Coming in third was Jaclyn Shokey of
Jim Thorpe, Penn., with a time of 3:14:22.
