be a global celebration of everything the event embodies – fun, 
fundraising, fancy-dress and amazing community spirit – with 50,000 people 
running on the streets of London and another 50,000 taking on their 26.2 
miles from wherever they are in the world.

If you'd like to put your own spin on this year's Virgin Money London 
Marathon, signing up for a charity place in the virtual event is the 
perfect way to personalise your experience on Sunday 3 October – the 
options are endless!

You'll have 24 hours to complete the 26.2-mile challenge, so you can walk, 
jog or run it anywhere you like – the ideal option if you've never tackled 
a marathon before. Choose your own route, invite friends to join you and 
fundraise for charity all at the same time!

Or, if you're a veteran marathon runner, supporting a charity by taking on 
the distance your way will ensure you have a memorable, meaningful day that 
will be like no other marathon you've ever done before.

We have free 16-week training plans for every ability and will support you 
every step of the way with training tips from marathon experts, nutrition 
advice and clever kit ideas from our partners New Balance.

Support on the day

One Marathon Day, you'll be able to use the Official App, powered by TCS, 
to support your 26.2 miles and earn the coveted souvenir medal and New 
Balance finisher's T-shirt. The app will also allow your supporters to 
track you in the mass event and will bring the virtual experience to life 
via an exclusive soundtrack featuring stars of the running world.
