Guinness World Records and Los Angeles Marathon Partner
To Offer Record-Breaking Attempts To Runners
NEW YORK, NY/LOS ANGELES, CA (October 30, 2019) - Guinness World Records,
the global authority on record-breaking achievements, announces its
collaboration with the 2020 Los Angeles Marathon presented by ASICS to
provide runners with the opportunity to make history. An official Guinness
World Records adjudicator will be tracking marathon record-attempters on
race day to verify if their run from the Stadium to the Sea is Officially
Amazing.™

for the 2020 Los Angeles Marathon. This is the entertainment capital of
the world and partnering with Guinness World Records adds another element
of entertainment and performance to the amazing experience that is the

History-making hopefuls for the 2020 Los Angeles Marathon can attempt one
of hundreds of marathon-related individual and team-based Guinness World
Records titles including:
- Fastest marathon dressed as a lifeguard (male) (current record: 2:55:54)
- Fastest marathon dressed as a television character (female) (current
record: 3:54:48)
- Fastest marathon wearing flip-flops (male) (current record: 03:42:29)
- Fastest marathon dressed as an emoji (female) (current record: 4:18:06)
- Fastest marathon in film character costume (female) (current record:
3:16:19)
Applications must be submitted to Guinness World Records prior to 6 PM PST
on Monday, February 10, 2020. Runners must register for the Los Angeles
Marathon before applying to break a Guinness World Records title.
In 2017, the last time that there were official attempts at the Los Angeles
Marathon, eight Guinness World Records titles were achieved, including
Fastest marathon dressed as a three-dimensional bird and Fastest marathon
dressed as a fast food item.
