Marine Corps Marathon Debuts 40th Anniversary Event Program Online
QUANTICO, VA (Oct. 7, 2015) – The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is today
debuting “Salute,” the beautifully detailed full color event program for
the 40th anniversary of “The People’s Marathon.” The digital interactive
version of the Salute program is available on the MCM website at
www.marinemarathon.com.
The 64-page magazine program features 40 years of the MCM with historical
remembrances and runner profiles and provides up-to-date information about
new technologies – from the MCM App to runner tracking services. The
program showcases MCM Weekend occurring Oct. 23 through Marathon Day,
Oct. 25 with essential event information for both runners and spectators
including: transportation, course maps and highlights, check lists and pre-
and post-event information, from the MCM start to the Finish Festival.
The “Salute” magazine program will be distributed to participants of the
MCM and MCM10K during Packet Pick-up at the two-day Health & Fitness Expo
on Oct. 23 and 24. The Expo will be held at the Walter E. Washington
Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The online version features articles, advertisements and information
includes links to a variety of resources with additional details including
innovative services, commemorative products and the new technologies
offered by MCM sponsors. The program was written and designed by the MCM
staff, headquartered at Fowler Hall on Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA.

The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM), voted “Best Marathon in the Mid Atlantic,”
the “Best Marathon for Charities” and the “Best Spectator Event, honors the
dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism of its participants. Known as “The
People’s Marathon,” runners from all walks of life participate in the MCM,
which is the largest marathon not to offer prize money. The 40th MCM on
Sunday, October 25, is sponsored by Arlington County, Brooks, Aetna,
Hyundai and GEICO. No federal or Marine Corps endorsement is implied.
