   GEICO offers Active Duty, Reservists Discounted Entry to 41st MCM 
Starting March 2, service members can register at a reduced ratethrough 
partnership 

QUANTICO, VA (March 1, 2016) - Military members currently serving on active 
duty or in the Reserve will want to register quickly beginning at noon 
Eastern tomorrow, March 2 to obtain a 15 percent registration discount to 
the 41st Marine Corps Marathon (MCM). 

GEICO is partnering with the MCM to celebrate military participants who 
obligate their time to train and run the event annually held in Arlington, 
VA and throughout the nation's capital. Military members can register at 
www.marinemarathon.com and pay $114.75, or 15 percent off the full 
registration cost of $135. 

More than 9,000 military members from all service branches participate in 
the MCM. Thousands of others run to honor, or celebrate, the military 
service of a loved one. Through the MCM's partnership with GEICO, 2,500 
entries will be available to service members until they are sold out. The 
MCM is open to all ages 14 and above. 

Military members not able to obtain one of the limited discounted entries 
still can register through the MCM Lottery, open to the public from March 
24-30. Once the Lottery closes, those selected will be notified about their 
registration starting March 31. MCM Lottery registration is available at

The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is voted the "Best Marathon in the Mid 
Atlantic" and "Best Marathon for Spectators." The MCM honors the 
dedication, sportsmanship and patriotism of its participants. Also known as 
"The People's Marathon," runners from all walks of life participate in the 
MCM, the largest marathon not to offer prize money. The 41st MCM will be 
held on October 30, 2016 in Arlington, VA. No federal or Marine Corps
