         Lottery Registration Closes for 42nd Marine Corps Marathon 
      Runners can still run October Marathon with MCM Charity Partners, 
                           Four Star program 

QUANTICO, VA (March 29, 2017) - Lottery registration for the 42nd Marine 
Corps Marathon (MCM) is now closed. The MCM Lottery opened March 22 and 
remained open for eight days to provide runners access worldwide. Beginning 
tomorrow March 30, runners will receive notification of their registration 
status via email as result of the lottery process. Those not selected 
through the MCM Lottery still can register to participate in the Marathon 
through the many Charity Partners connected to this year's event. 

The Marine Corps Marathon Organization has partnered with 89 charities, 
each seeking participants to support their significant cause by running 
"The People's Marathon." Those interested can choose from any of the 
organizations to support through the Charity Partner page of the MCM 
website. 

In addition, runners can opt to purchase a special Four Star registration 
package. Four Star runners will obtain two entries to the MCM (or one entry 
to the MCM and one to the MCM10K); two-or-three nights stay at the Gaylord 
National Resort (MCM headquarters hotel) and other amenities. These include 
exclusive access to MCM Weekend events including a breakfast and 
carbo-loading dinner on Oct. 21; start line hospitality tent and private 
port-a-johns; event-day transportation; a free digital image of the runner 
in action during the MCM and tickets to the Capital Wheel located at 
National Harbor, MD. 

The MCM also offers an official Transfer Program opening July 12. 
Registered MCM runners who will not be able to complete the Marathon can 
officially transfer their entry to another runner. Runners will be able to 
connect to each other through the MCM Facebook page. 

The 42nd MCM will be held Sunday, Oct. 22 with MCM Weekend occurring from

Honoring the dedication, sportsmanship, and patriotism of its participants, 
the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is also known as "The People's Marathon," 
as runners from all walks of life annually participate. The 42nd MCM, 
coordinated by the Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) and United 
States Marine Corps, will be held October 22, 2017 in Arlington, VA. The
