Mississauga Marathon Raises Over $185,000 for 27 Charities
Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga Marathon is proud to announce a grand
total of $187,425.91 has been raised for our 27 local and national charity
partners through the Scotiabank Charity Challenge at the 2015 Mississauga
Marathon.
"We are thrilled with the fundraising efforts by all of our participants,
resulting in not only record funds raised this year, but also a new record
of charities that have been supported," said Scotiabank Charity Challenge
Manager for the Mississauga Marathon, Brody Coles. This record setting year
demonstrates the deep support for this fundraising initiative by the
participants in the Mississauga Marathon.
The Mississauga Marathon was first involved in the Scotiabank Charity
Challenge in 2012. Since that time, participants have raised over $500,000
for 55 different local and national charities.
"The Mississauga Marathon and Scotiabank would like to congratulate all
participants and each charity involved for their outstanding efforts and
overall results," continued Coles.
In addition, Scotiabank has donated $2,000 to the top charity in each of
three categories. Congratulations to the following charities:
Team World Vision Canada - Highest amount of total dollars raised by one
charity
Crohn's and Colitis Canada - Mississauga Chapter – Largest number of total
fundraisers from one charity
Dravet Canada - Highest donation average per fundraiser
The 27 charity partners involved with the 2015 Mississauga Marathon
include: Aim for Seva, CameronHelps, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Red
Cross, Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada, Community Living
Mississauga, Crohn's and Colitis Canada- Mississauga Chapter, Dravet
Canada, Epilepsy Halton Peel Hamilton, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Heart
House Hospice, India Rainbow Community Services of Peel, InfluenceLD,
Interim Place, Islamic Relief, Jays Care Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation Canada, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada,
Pancreatic Cancer Canada, Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario, Seva Food
Bank, Sickle Cell Association of Ontario, The Kidney Foundation of Canada,

About the Mississauga Marathon
The 2016 Mississauga Marathon Race Weekend is scheduled to take place from
Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1. Race weekend will also include a
Runner's Expo that is open to the general public at Port Credit Memorial
Arena on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30, 2016. The Mississauga
Marathon will continue to offer "A Run For Everyone". Events will include
the Full Marathon, Sal Guzzo, LL.B Relay Challenge, Half Marathon, 10K, 10K
Student Relay, "The Hazel" 5K and a 2K Fun Run/Walk. Registration is now
