Third Annual Mississauga Marathon Scotiabank Charity Challenge is Now Live!
Mississauga, ON -The 2015 Mississauga Marathon Scotiabank Charity Challenge
is now up and running. Fundraisers and donors are now able to sign up to
support one of our 19 charity partners.
This fundraising program allows participants to personalize their own
fundraising page with a fundraising goal, pictures and videos, send emails
to friends and family asking for their support, build a fundraising team
and enter offline donations. Participants can also share their personalized
fundraising page on social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter,
Pinterest, etc. As part of the program, Scotiabank will provide a donation
for the top charity in each of the following categories:
-$2000 to the charity with the highest fundraising total
-$2000 to the charity with the largest Fundraising team (minimum of
$20.00 raised per member)
-$2000 to the charity with the highest average fundraising per runner
average (minimum 10 members)
Over the past two years, more than 850 participants have fundraised while
taking part in one of the seven events within the Mississauga Marathon on
behalf of one of our charity partners. In 2014, this program was a great
success once again with the support of participants, families, friends and
spectators, the total raised was over $148,000 for 22 local and national
charities. Team World Vision led the way with over 100 fundraisers.

Canada, Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario, Seva Food Bank, Sickle Cell
Association of Ontario, The Mississauga Food Bank, The Canadian Red Cross
Society, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Team World Vision and Wellspring
Birmingham Gilgan House Cancer Support Foundation.

About the Mississauga Marathon
The 12th annual Mississauga Marathon will take place on Saturday, May 2nd
and Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 and offers "A Run For Everyone" including: Full
Marathon, Sal Guzzo, LL.B Relay Challenge, Recharge with Milk Half
Marathon, Valeant Pharmaceuticals 10K, 10K Student Relay, "The Hazel" 5K
and SUBWAY® Restaurants 2K Fun Run/Walk. A Runner's Expo is also part of
Race Weekend, a mandatory stop for all participants to pick up their race
kits and will take place on Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 at
the Port Credit Memorial Arena in downtown Port Credit.
