The Mississauga Marathon returns for its 19th edition
and first in-person event since 2019
Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga Marathon is thrilled to welcome back over
8,000 participants participating in 5 events, to celebrate the return of
the 19th Mississauga Marathon April 29th - May 1st, 2022.
"It has been a long 2 years for everyone and the running community is no
exception. We are back to live racing and could not be happier." says Brad
Melville, Race Director.
Over the past 2 decades the Mississauga Marathon has earned its reputation
as one of Canada’s premier running events over and offers a unique
experience for participants of all ages and abilities. The marathon
continues to be one of the fastest Boston Marathon qualifiers in North
America and attracts runners from across Canada and abroad.
On Sunday May 1st, the Full and Half Marathons will begin at Square One at
7:30am, where over 3,000 runners will set their sights on a new personal
best. Participants will wind their way down scenic Mississauga Road, along
the Lake Ontario Waterfront, before finishing at the stunning Lakefront
Promenade Park, the culmination of all 5 events.
The Mississauga Marathon Charity Challenge will enter its 10th year,
welcoming hundreds of individuals and teams running to fundraise for the 20
Charity Partners involved. The unique fundraising opportunity is open to
registered charities, with no fees required for participation. Donations
will continue to be collected until May 16th.
This event will be one to remember, Melville states that, "The excitement
that comes with a live event is unparalleled and this feels like year one
all over again. We can’t wait see everyone on the roads and at the finish
line."
About Mississauga Marathon
The 2022 Mississauga Marathon Race Weekend is scheduled to take place from
Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1. Race weekend will include a Health and
Wellness Expo that is open to the public at Port Credit Memorial Arena on
Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30. The Mississauga Marathon will
continue to offer "A Run for Everyone" with events including the Full
Marathon, Pandora Square One Half Marathon, 10K, Novo Nordisk "Hazel" 5K
