 Nevis Tourism Authority Announces Inaugural Marathon and Running Festival

         The Island of Nevis Welcomes Runners of All Abilities to 
                    Take Part in 3 Day Running Festival

Charlestown, Nevis - June 13th, 2014... Runners from all over the world 
looking for their next challenge are invited to take part in the hugely 
exciting 3 day Nevis Marathon and Running festival, taking place 18th-20th 
September 2014. The marathon features as the main event, with a half 
marathon, 10k and 5k race also available. The marathon course is billed as 
being the most beautiful run in the Caribbean.

The marathon begins in Charlestown on the Caribbean Sea side of Nevis, and 
will go out and back along the sombrero shaped island, offering spectacular 
views along the course.  

Runners will pass through many of the island's villages, where locals will 
be lining the route in their droves cheering on participants. With Vervet 
monkeys and goats roaming freely on the island you're guaranteed to be 
accompanied by some of Nevis's wildlife along your route. 

The 5K run will be held in the stunning grounds of the Four Seasons Resort, 
with breath-taking views of the bay and neighbouring St Kitts.

The marathon course is a mix of challenging hills and flatter terrain. 
Runners will be supported by numerous water and feed stations along the 
route, some with a Caribbean twist including local music and delicacies 
such as mangoes and coconut cake.

The local weather during September is typical of most of the year with 
temperatures in the low to mid-80s°F / mid 20-30s°C, with cool breezes and
