                New Grandma's Marathon Event Set for Saturday

             Park Point Beach Run 5K to Benefit Pancreatic Cancer

(Duluth, Minn.) The first running of the Park Point Beach Run 5K is 
scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. on Duluth's Park Point. This 
new event – hosted by Grandma's Marathon – is an untimed fun run and serves 
as a fundraiser for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Five dollars of every entry fee plus all net proceeds will benefit the 
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The pre-registration entry fee is $25 and 
is available thru Friday at www.grandmasmarathon.com. Late registration 
on race day is $35 and runs from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

The race begins and ends near the pavilion at the end of Park Point. The 
course will take participants onto the trails adjacent to the Sky Harbor 
Airport as well as the Park Point beach, just steps from Lake Superior.

Similar to the Minnesota Mile race held earlier this month, this event 
offers runners a unique opportunity to secure a spot in next year's Garry 
Bjorklund Half Marathon. One hundred finishers will be randomly selected to 
receive guaranteed entries into the 2014 half marathon on June 21. These 
100 runners will gain an automatic entry without the need to enter the 
lottery system.

Prizes will be awarded for the best beach attire, and Green Mill will have 
its pizza truck on hand and will donate a portion of all sales to the 
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
