            DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Sold Out!

Event Record 30,000-plus Runners Expected for Marathon & Half Marathon at 
6th Edition on Sunday, May 4; Limited Spots Available for 5K and Pet Walk

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Race organizers announced that the DICK'S Sporting Goods 
Pittsburgh Marathon, UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon, and FedEx 
Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay have officially sold out with an event 
record of more than 30,000 participants committed to "Run Home to 
Pittsburgh" on Sunday, May 4.

"We are thrilled to host 30,000 runners from all 50 states and 18 countries 
to "Run Home to Pittsburgh" this year," said Patrice Matamoros, CEO of 
Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. "Neighborhood celebrations are 
expected to be the largest to-date. Spectators along the course will 
welcome runners with true Pittsburgh spirit, and 13 different neighborhoods 
will showcase the best that Pittsburgh has to offer with the bands, 
cheerathoners and festivals."

Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc., the nonprofit organization that 
presents the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, is celebrating the 
6th consecutive sellout of the event since the race returned in 2009 after 
a 5-year hiatus. 

This year's "Run Home to Pittsburgh" campaign encourages runners with ties 
to Pittsburgh to return to the City of Champions for the largest hometown 
reunion of the year. More than 20 percent of runners who registered for the 
2014 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend events are from 
out-of-state.

Leading up to race weekend, Pittsburghers from all over the world can share 
their memories and excitement using the hashtag #RunHomePgh on Facebook, 
Twitter and Instagram.

Runners can still register for the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh 
Marathon, UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon and FedEx Ground 
Pittsburgh Marathon Relay as charity runners through the Run for a Reason 
charity program presented by Guardian Storage. Limited spots are available 
for runners in the UPMC Health Plan/UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K and
