      P3R Celebrates Pittsburgh's Bicentennial by Showcasing Runners 
                        from Across the Country
						
More than 50 runners will represent their state as Runner of STEEL 
Delegates during the 2016 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend 
of events

PITTSBURGH – This year P3R is rolling out the red carpet to runners from 
across the country to help celebrate Pittsburgh's Bicentennial Celebration 
during the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events. In 
honor of the city's special event, P3R has selected more than 50 runners 
from across the United States to represent their state as part of the 
Runner of Steel Delegate program. During race weekend, runners from 49 
states will have the opportunity to experience everything Pittsburgh has to 
offer. 

P3R has partnered with The Carnegie Science Center, The Andy Warhol Museum, 
the Carnegie Museum of Art and The National Aviary to give delegates the 
chance to experience some of Pittsburgh's greatest attractions while they 
are in town. 

On Saturday, April 30 at 6 p.m., an athlete parade in Market Square will 
showcase the Runner of Steel Delegates. Following the parade, runners are 
invited to watch a special performance by Project Silk followed by a dance 
party featuring local DJs.

The Bicentennial Celebration continues on race day with each neighborhood 
on the course hosting birthday parties with noisemakers, party beads and 
poms poms. Thousands of Pittsburghers, including 60 bands and 
cheerathoners, will line the course to help runners achieve their goal.
