FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Flosport to be live streaming partner for RunCzech Running League
FloSports today announced an agreement with the Prague International
Marathon and Tempo Team Prague to be the exclusive United States live
streaming partner for all seven races in the RunCzech Running League for
the next three years.
The events will be streamed live on FloTrack, which will bring its vast
expertise in the sport overseas to Europe in providing written and video
content as well as English-language commentary for all seven races.
The series will begin on April 2 with the Sportisimo Prague Half Marathon
followed by the Volkswagen Prague Marathon on May 8, the Mattoni Karlovy
Vary Half Marathon on May 21, the Mattoni Ceske Budejovice Half Marathon on
June 4, the Mattoni Olomouc Half Marathon on June 25, the Birell Prague
Grand Prix on Sept. 10 and the Mattoni Usti nad Labem Half Marathon on
Sept. 17.
"We are excited to partner with such a great organization like RunCzech,
which organizes some of the top road racing events in the world," FloSports
COO and co-founder Mark Floreani said. "We strive to showcase the best
content for FloSports subscribers and these seven races will help continue
to fill our FloPro schedule with elite-caliber events."
With seven Gold Labels from the International Association of Athletics
Federation, the Czech Republic ranks at the top of the world's influential
road racing destinations. No country in the world has more Gold Label road
races, and the three Gold Labels held by road races in Prague are the most
of any city in the world.
The IAAF Road Race Label system is based on criteria which when applied to
events guarantee a level of quality to all. Label requirements include
doping control, gender equal prize money, course certification and safety
regulations amongst others. Events are awarded with Bronze, Silver, or Gold
(the highest) labels.
In 2016, there are 35 cities that have received the IAAF Gold Road Race
Label, and a total of 43 labels awarded by IAAF.
The list of stellar athletes to have competed in the RunCzech Running
League over the last three years includes marathon world record holder
Dennis Kimetto, former marathon world record holder Wilson Kipsang;
two-time World Championships gold medalist Edna Kiplagat; two-time London
Marathon and two-time New York City Marathon champion Mary Keitany; and
2015 Boston Marathon champion Caroline Rotich.
"The IAAF label system makes it possible to evaluate the quality and
compare the level of race organizations worldwide," Capalbo said. "Years
ago when we had just introduced RunCzech races in the regions, no one would
have believed that one day cities like Olomouc and Usti nad Labem would be
evaluated by the IAAF at the same level as New York, Berlin or Tokyo.
"The fact that we did it is a huge appreciation not only of our team but
also of the whole country. Running in the Czech Republic is becoming a
worldwide-recognized brand. Therefore we are able to invite to our events
the top elite athletes in the world, as well as thousands of international
runners who come to run and discover our beautiful country."
