FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Plain White T's To Headline Humana Rock 'N' Roll Arizona Marathon
& 1/2 Marathon
TAMPA, Fla. / PHOENIX, SCOTTSDALE, TEMPE Ariz. (November 29, 2018) - The
Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series® is excited to announce Plain White T's as
the headliner for the 2018 Humana Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2
Marathon. On Sunday, Jan. 20, Plain White T's will take to the Toyota Rock
'n' Roll Concert Stage in Tempe Beach Park to close out a great three-day
event. The concert will be free and open to the public.
Since emerging in 1997, the GRAMMY award-nominated multi-platinum Chicago
quintet - Tom Higgenson [vocals], Tim Lopez [lead guitar, vocals], Dave
Tirio [rhythm guitar], Mike Retondo [bass], and De'Mar Hamilton [drums] -
has amassed an enduring, engaging and enigmatic catalog, spanning two
gold-certified offerings All That We Need (2005) and Every Second Counts
(2006) and unshakable anthems such as double-platinum "1,2,3,4" and
platinum "Rhythm of Love." Among the discography, "Hey There Delilah" went
quadruple-platinum, topped the Billboard Hot 100, and earned a pair of 2008
GRAMMY award-nominations in the categories of "Song of the Year" and "Best
Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals." Along the way, the band
logged countless miles on the road in front of sold out crowds in nearly
every corner of the globe. After a whirlwind tour cycle supporting 2015's
American Nights, the guys hunkered down and began writing the ideas that
would eventually comprise Parallel Universe, that debuted in the Summer
2018.
"We're looking forward to kicking off the new year with an outstanding band
like the Plain White T's," said Josh Furlow, Managing Director of North
America for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series. "The Plain White T's have
performed around the world and bring a full setlist of songs that everyone
recognizes, including music from their new album, Parallel Universe. Humana
Rock 'n' Roll Arizona is a great market and we're all excited about kicking
off the 2019 Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series Tour on a high note."
The musically-themed Humana Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2 Marathon
is known for Bringing the Fun to the Run™. The three-day weekend kicks off
Friday, Jan. 18 and the party continues through Sunday, Jan. 20. This is
