Carbon Leaf To Headline 2019 United Airlines Rock 'N' Roll Washington DC

The Toyota Rock 'n' Roll Concert Series will take place following the races
on Saturday, March 9 outside the finish line in front of
historic RFK Stadium
TAMPA, Fla. / WASHINGTON, D.C. (Jan. 21, 2019) - On Saturday, March 9,
Carbon Leaf will headline the eighth edition of the United Airlines Rock
'n' Roll® Washington DC Marathon & 1/2 Marathon, continuing its strong
tradition of Bringing the Fun to the Run™ with great music at the core. The
energetic post-race concert will cap of a day of great racing, great music
and all-around fun throughout the nation's Capital.
Through 25 years together, Carbon Leaf's independent music and spirit have
continued to resonate with its fans after releasing 17 albums and
performing over 2,400 live shows . The band has created an authentic bond
between the band members and their audience. Blending rock, folk, Celtic,
bluegrass and Americana traditions into a high-energy style the group calls
ether-electrified porch music, the popular Virginia based quintet's poetic
songs are brought to life with acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin,
fiddle, bass, drums, cello, banjo, penny whistle, pedal steel, accordion
and rich vocal harmony. Having toured with bands such as Jason Mraz, Blues
Traveler, The Avett Brothers, Carbon Leaf is best known for the song "Life
Less Ordinary", which debuted in 2004.

The musically themed United Airlines Rock 'n' Roll Washington DC Marathon &
1/2 Marathon, known for Bringing the Fun to the Run™, will return to the
Capital for its eighth year and is expected to bring thousands of runners
to the region. As the only marathon to run completely within the District
of Columbia, participants will get the chance to run through the streets of
our nation's Capital and pass many distinguished monuments, buildings, and
national symbols. Live bands will also be performing along the course,
interspersed with themed water stations all the way to the finish line
outside of RFK Stadium where Carbon Leaf will perform.
Race weekend kicks off with the free Health & Fitness Expo where runners
can pick up their race weekend packet. Exhibitors will offer free samples,
showcase the latest in running gear, sports apparel, health and nutritional
information, and much more. The Expo takes place on Thursday, March 7 from
12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, March 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Located at The DC Armory, the Expo is free and open to the public.
