FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tucson Marathon Offers Discount For Displaced
Boulder Marathon Participants
TUCSON, AZ (October 2, 2014) -
Were the race not cancelled, runners would be toeing the starting line of
the Boulder Marathon this weekend. As runners and race directors, the
Tucson Marathon organizers are sorry that the Boulder event will not occur
for the second year in a row. If you were registered to run the race, and
are looking for a late season marathon or half-marathon, we'd like to offer
you a discounted entry to the Tucson Marathon events: $75 for the Full
Marathon and $70 for the Half. Participants will need to forward your
confirmation number for Boulder via email (to )
and we'll provide a discount code, which will be valid through the end of
October.
The 21st running of the Holualoa Tucson Marathon, Damascus Bakeries Half
Marathon and Marathon Relay will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2014.
Race organizers are expecting to see roughly 3,000 runners from all 50 US
States and the District of Columbia, as well as Canada, Mexico, Australia,
Germany, Argentina, the Netherlands and the UK participate in the various
distances on this beautiful course at the base of the Santa Catalina
Mountain Range.
The Marathon and Marathon Relay races start in the town of Oracle and the
Half Marathon starts on Biosphere Road. All events head south on N. Oracle
Road and share the same finish line at the Golder Ranch Fire Station on
Golder Ranch Drive, where spectators can cheer runners as they complete
their respective race.
The Runner's Expo for the Tucson Marathon Events, which is open to the
general public, will take place at the Hilton El Conquistador Resort (10000
N. Oracle Road) on Friday, December 5 (noon - 5pm) and Saturday, December 6
(8am-5pm). Expo vendors will provide product samples, demos and special
discounts on many running and other athletic products. On-site race
registration will also be available at the Expo.
In an effort to get today's youth active outdoors, the Tucson Marathon
provides donations to numerous local school groups who provide volunteers
and assistance with the events.
The Tucson Marathon Events are proudly sponsored by: Holualoa Companies,
Damascus Bakeries, Hilton El Conquistador Resort, Fleet Feet, Gatorade,
