          2014 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Reaches Capacity

    12,200 Participants Entered in 33rd Annual Event Set for October 5

St. Paul, MN (July 9, 2014) – Registration closed this afternoon for the 
33rd running of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. Participants from all 
50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico and 21 
other countries will run from downtown Minneapolis to the State Capitol 
grounds in St. Paul on October 5.

The filling of the race marks the 28th straight year the Medtronic Twin 
Cities Marathon has reached its capacity.

"We're pleased to have filled the once race again and we are looking 
forward to another great event," Twin Cities In Motion Executive Director 
Virginia Brophy Achman said. "We're glad that runners continue to feel the 
call of the marathon distance and we're honored that they choose to 
undertake such an important endeavor with us. Each and every participant 
can expect tremendous organizational and community support for their 
efforts."

Runners still wishing to take part in the race can reserve a spot at the 
start line through the Twin Cities In Motion Community Partners Fundraiser 
Entry Program benefiting the organization's youth fitness partners, 
including Bolder Options, Migizi Communications, YWCA of Minneapolis and 
Girls on the Run Twin Cities. The annual fundraiser offers 175 additional 
online marathon entries with donations used to support these partners. 

Interested participants can go online to tcmevents.org to take part in the 
Fundraiser Entry Program. For the price of registration ($130), plus a $100 
tax-deductible donation, the first 175 entries received will gain entry 
into the 33rd running of The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America®.

Twin Cities In Motion focuses its fundraising efforts on kids' fitness and 
wellness through its youth fitness partners. The money raised through the 
Fundraiser Entry Program helps these organizations focus on their mission 
to benefit youth and to combat childhood obesity in the Twin Cities area.
