NASHVILLE, Tenn., (Dec. 7, 2005) — The seventh annual Country
Music Marathon & ½ Marathon is set to hit the streets of Nashville Sat.,
April 29, 2006. Early registration fees are currently $70 for the
26.2-mile marathon and $50 for the 13.1-mile half marathon, good
thru Dec. 31, 2005. Runners and walkers are encouraged to register early as
entry fees will increase in January.
The 2005 event was the largest to date with over 17,500 registered
participants. After the highly successful implementation of the wave start
last year, organizers expect the race to grow again in 2006, continuing to
ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone as they Run Music City. The
event will once again feature 50 live bands playing along the course, 25
high school cheer squads to keep your energy pumping, a fantastic finish
line festival and a post-race concert featuring one of country music’s top
acts.
The event is recognized as the ultimate tour of Music City, from historic
sites like the Parthenon, Nashville's world-renowned Music Row and a
spectacular finish outside the Coliseum on the Cumberland River.
