Grandma's Marathon To Host An Online Auction
Benefiting Tsunami Relief Efforts
Duluth, Minn.: In response to the horrific natural disaster that destroyed
hundreds of communities in Southeast Asia at the end of December, Grandma's
Marathon is launching an online auction to raise money for the Tsunami
Relief Efforts. The auction can be accessed by logging on to
http://auction.grandmasmarathon.com, and will open on Monday, February 21.
"Our hearts go out to everybody that was affected by the tsunami disaster,"
says Tim Lee, chairperson of the Grandma's Marathon board of directors.
"Grandma's Marathon is an international event that strives to serve people
across the globe. When something like this happens we feel it is important
to do our part to reach out and help as much as possible."
The auction features ten items ranging from the highly sought after
lifetime entries into Grandma's Marathon and the Garry Bjorklund Half
Marathon to 2005 Grandma's Marathon Weekend Packages that include lodging,
complimentary entries into the races and Grandma's Marathon merchandise
(complete list of items is below). The auction will close on Thursday,
March 3. All proceeds will directly benefit the Tsunami Relief Efforts.
