Rush Registration Returns for the 43rd Marine Corps Marathon
11,000 Runners Can Guarantee Entry to "The People's Marathon"
Before the Lottery Opens
QUANTICO, VA (March 14, 2018) - On March 21, 2018, Rush Registration will
open for runners who want to secure their spot in the Marine Corps Marathon
(MCM) this October. MCM Rush Registration will be offered in addition to
the MCM Lottery. Rush Registration guarantees runners a spot in "The
People's Marathon" and will be available online at www.marinemarathon.com.
MCM Rush Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. on March 21, 2018, and end at
9:25 a.m. OR as soon as 11,000 runners have registered foregoing the
25-minute duration.
The last MCM Rush Registration in 2013 was the fastest sellout in the
history of marathon events with runners claiming all available entries in
two hours, 21 minutes. The 2018 Marine Corps 17.75K, which guarantees
finishers entry to the MCM, sold out all 3,100 spots in just seven minutes,
25 seconds last month. Runners will want to act fast to claim a guaranteed
spot in the 43rd MCM.
MCM Lottery registration will open at noon on March 21, 2018, and continue
through noon on March 28, 2018. Participants will be notified of their MCM
Lottery acceptance results on March 29, 2018.
The cost of the MCM is $170 plus a processing fee and is open to ages
14-and-older. Runners ages 14-17 on Marathon day, October 28, 2018, will
receive a 40 percent discount off registration as part of the Next
Generation Inspiration Initiative.
The 43rd Marine Corps Marathon will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018, in
Arlington, VA and throughout the nation's capital.
