TWIN CITIES MARATHON SPECTATOR GUIDE AVAILABLE NOW
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota – September 19, 2002 – A comprehensive guide for the
2002 Twin Cites Marathon (TCM) spectators is now available.
The pocket-sized guide contains a complete listing of events, times, and
locations for activities over the three-day Twin Cities Marathon weekend,
September 27-29. The guide also includes maps of all event sites such as
Sunday’s Seagate Technology Marathon Village and Saturday’s family events.
An extensive course map outlines the routes for the 26.2 mile marathon as
well as the 10 mile and 5K runs. The course map shows water stops, medical
aid stations, and other pertinent race details. A pacing guide and race
viewing locations will make it easier for spectators to find friends or
family participating in the races, and a list of favorite cheers will help
root for the athletes. First aid and safety tips are also part of the
guide.
"The spectators guide is new this year," says Damien Wolf, the Twin Cities
Marathon’s Marketing Chair. "We hope that spectators will use the guide to
plan their weekend and enjoy the marathon events to the fullest."
100,000 TCM Spectator Guides are available at no cost. Some distribution
locations include: the American Lung Association, Galyan’s, GEAR Running
Store, LIFE TIME FITNESS, Marathon Sports, the HHH Metrodome, Northwest
Athletic Club, and the Running Room. Guides will also be available during
