FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Registration Opens Today
CHICAGO - Registration for the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon opens
today at noon Central Time at chicagomarathon.com. Registration will be
conducted through a system of guaranteed entry options, as well as through
a non-guaranteed entry lottery. The 37th annual event will take place on
Sunday, October 12, and will welcome 45,000 registered participants to the
flat streets of Chicago.
Interested runners can register with a guaranteed entry or enter the
non-guaranteed entry lottery at any time between Wednesday, March 19, at
noon, and Monday, April 7, at noon.
There are four options for guaranteed entry into the 2014 Bank of America
Chicago Marathon: those who opt to run with an official Chicago Marathon
charity; those who opt to run with an official Chicago Marathon tour
partner; legacy finishers who have finished the Chicago Marathon five or
more times within the last 10 years; and time qualifiers who have run a sub
3:15:00 marathon (men) or sub 3:45:00 marathon (women) since January 1,
2012.
All others can enter the non-guaranteed entry lottery, which entails a
random selection of names from the lottery pool to fill the remaining spots
in the participant field. Lottery entrants will be notified of their
selection status on Monday, April 14. Those who are successfully selected
through the lottery will then have a three-day window to complete the
registration process.
The 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon registration fee is $185 for U.S.
residents or $210 for those residing outside of the U.S. The field will be
capped at a maximum of 45,000 participants.
