Chicago Area Runners Association to Auction
2016 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Elite Athlete Race Day Experience
Chicago, IL – (March 10, 2016) The Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA),
the Midwest's premier running association and the third largest in the
U.S., is excited to announce a special behind the scenes race weekend
experience through the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Elite Athlete
Experience.
CARA is thrilled to offer this unique 2016 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
Elite Athlete Experience to one lucky bidder as a fundraiser initiative.
The bidding starts on March 9 at www.EliteExperience.org with an opening
minimum bid of $1500, and closes on April 8 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
The Elite Athlete Race Day Experience offers a unique opportunity to see
what it is like to be an elite runner in one of the Abbott World Marathon
Majors at the 2016 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. The experience starts
with a marathon race entry (if planning on running the marathon) and
participation in the Elite Athlete check in process, access to the Elite
Suite, Elite Athlete Press Conference, Elite Athlete pre-race dinner,
transport to the start on the Elite Athlete Bus, inclusion in the VIP
Runner Program (if running) and more.
Chicago Area Runners Association is a member based, not-for-profit
organization and this fundraising activity will serve to support the CARA
Road Scholars, a summer running program for High School students from
under-served Chicago neighborhoods. CARA Road Scholars trains students with
the support of experienced, deeply committed volunteer 'mentors' to run a
half marathon. Building self-esteem, self-reliance and determination, CARA
Road Scholars helps shape student's lives through running, developing the
habits of physical fitness, healthy living, and goal setting to achieve a
long term positive effect on the community. The minimum bid is enough to
support five students.
