               Grandma's Marathon Big Top Tent Entertainment
				
        Friday Night Changes Include New Start Time, No Cover Charge
 
(Duluth, Minn.) Come for the race, stay for the party. Just make sure to be 
in the Big Top Tent during Grandma's Marathon for the weekend's best live 
entertainment. 

It all kicks off Friday night June 21 with a new start time. Music will 
start at 7 p.m. - an hour earlier than in past years - in part to 
accommodate those participating in the William A. Irvin 5K, which begins at 
6 p.m. Another change is the elimination of the Friday night cover charge, 
which was $5 a year ago. 

"We are very excited with the changes we have implemented, especially for 
Friday night. The earlier start time combined with six free hours of music 
from four tremendously talented bands is a recipe for a great time on 
marathon eve," says Scott Keenan, executive director of Grandma's Marathon. 
"The party atmosphere in the Big Top Tent is always a popular part of the 
entire Grandma's weekend."

Among the performers set to entertain during next weekend's festivities are 
Big Wave Dave & The Ripples, Rogue Valley, Lucy Michelle & The Velvet 
Lapelles, Sarah Krueger, Mynx and Rhino.

Longtime marathon tradition GB Leighton, a 2011 Grandma's Marathon Hall of 
Fame inductee, headlines the Saturday afternoon and evening schedules. GB 
Leighton is making appearance number 17 at Grandma's Marathon, having made 
their debut in 1996.

A daytime lineup Saturday features a free show open to the public and 
begins at 11:30 a.m. The Friday and Saturday evening shows are for those 21 
years of age and older.
