To help you stay healthy and happy at home in the coming weeks, we've put
together some ideas to ensure you get the most out of every day. From
putting your grey matter through its paces at The Great Big parkrun Quiz to

Healthy Body
The current Government advice allows for one daily outdoor exercise
session. If you're already a runner, check out coach Martin Yelling's

Couch to 5K
If you're new to running and would like to get started, why not try the
NHS's Couch to 5K programme? The nine-week programme features three runs
per week and you can choose your coach - from celebrities like Jo Whiley,
Sarah Millican and Sanjeev Kohli to former Olympic athlete Michael Johnson.
Workout with Esmee Gummer
Head to the Virgin Money London Marathon Facebook page at 18:00 every
Tuesday and Friday to join motivational, funny and energetic Esmée Gummer
for an indoor workout live in your own home. Guaranteed to make you smile,
sweat and get you moving... three things we all need right now.
NHS 10-minute workouts
The NHS website features 10-minute workouts that target specific areas of
the body, such as legs, bums and tums and abs. Great if you need a break
from your home office for a few minutes.
parkrun warm-ups for kids
If your kids are missing their regular date with Junior parkrun, or they
simply need to burn off some energy, parkrun's new warm-up series by kids
for kids is great fun and sure to make the whole family happy.
Our Parks Superhero Fitness
Join Our Parks founder Born Barikor for a free daily Superhero Fitness
Workout for kids aged from three to seven. Each 10-minute session has a
different theme, from jumping to cardio (for when you need to chase down
the villains).
PE with Joe Wicks
The nation's school kids have been enjoying 09:00 PE classes with The Body
Coach Joe Wicks every day at 09:00. To join in the jumping around, visit
Joe's YouTube channel, where you'll find more than 250 home workouts to
try.
Cosmic Kids!
This YouTube channel and app bring yoga, mindfulness and relaxation for
kids direct to your living room. Your kids will be taken on an interactive
adventure with characters they'll already know and love - from the Trolls
to Harry Potter - to build strength, balance and confidence. A colourful
and fun option if you're looking for some active screen time.
Get creative in the kitchen
Stay healthy from the inside out by heading to BBC Good Food's 'Stay Home,
Get Cooking' section for healthy and simple recipes to try with or without
the kids. From batch cooking for beginners, to easy pasta and bread
recipes, there's something for everyone.
Healthy Mind
Discover Meditation
Many meditation apps are offering free trials and support to help people to
get through the COVID-19 crisis. Apps like Calm and Headspace offer access
to guided meditation sessions, movement workouts, advice on how to sleep
better, and much more. Headspace's mantra is 'Stress less. Move more. Sleep
better.' All things we could benefit from right now.
The Great Big parkrun Quiz
There are loads of online quizzes springing up to give us something to
think about while we're at home. Some of them have even been set up to
coincide with events that you might be missing, like parkrun on a Saturday
morning. Tune in to The Great Big parkrun Quiz every Saturday morning at
09:00 to get your weekly parkrun fix.
Public Health England
For up-to-date advice on how to look after your mental health and wellbeing
during the coronavirus outbreak, check out Public Health England's guide to
coping with a variety of challenges, from anxiety to financial wellbeing.
National Theatre at Home
Head to the National Theatre's YouTube channel at 19:00 UK time every
Thursday for a free full-length play, free to stream for a week after
transmission. Featuring the best of British theatre, the series of plays
starts from 2 April with the online premiere of One Man Two Guvnors.
Myleene's Music Klass
If your kids' music lessons are on pause, head to Myleene's Music Klass
(see what she did there?) to learn about making music at home. The lessons
cover everything from understanding the different between major and minor
to playing the piano backwards.
Live concerts direct to your living room
The Montreux Jazz Festival is offering free access to more than 50 festival
concerts to deliver a little live-music magic into your home. You can
stream the concerts for free for the next 30 days so if you've always
wanted to see Queen live at Wembley Stadium in 1986, now's your chance!
