  TOYOTA PRIUS MIAMI TROPICAL MARATHON EARNS OFFICIAL USATF CERTIFICATION 
  RACE TO BE HELD ON LAST POSSIBLE DATE FOR BOSTON MARATHON QUALIFICATION


MIAMI, FL (November 11, 2003) - Toyota Prius Miami Tropical Marathon earns
official USATF course certification for the inaugural running on 
February 2, 2003. 

The Toyota Prius Miami Tropical Marathon has been designated by Boston 
Athletic Association as an official qualifier. The marathon in Miami, to 
be held annually on the first weekend in February, will offer runners a 
final chance at qualifying for the 2003 Boston Marathon. Runners looking to 
qualify for the Boston Marathon will need to complete the 26.2 mile course 
within a particular time frame set according to their category. USATF 
course certification number for the Toyota Prius Miami Tropical Marathon is
FL02043DL. 

"This certification is what many in the running community were waiting for.
Having the course officially certified by USA Track & Field will most 
certainly encourage others to join the over 1,800 already registered 
participants," said Race Director Robert Pozo, of PR Racing, Inc.

The 26.2 mile flat marathon course will showcase the most scenic views of 
Miami, Miami Beach, Brickell, and Coconut Grove. Elite runners from around
the world will compete for a prize purse of $50,000. The Toyota Prius Miami
Tropical Marathon will also offer a $100,000 bonus if a world record is 
broken in the full marathon.
