Entry Application Opens Today for the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon
Non-guaranteed entry drawing is free to enter and will be open for one
month, from January 17 through February 17, with drawing scheduled for
March 2
The 47th running of the world's largest marathon will take place on Sunday,
November 5, 2017
New York, January 17, 2017-The entry application for the 2017 TCS New York
City Marathon opens online at tcsnycmarathon.org at 12 p.m. EST today. The
month-long runner application window for both guaranteed and non-guaranteed
entries will remain open through February 17. The race, which is the
premier event of New York Road Runners and the largest marathon in the
world, will take place on Sunday, November 5.

part in this transformative experience through New York City's five

drawing, receive guaranteed entry through NYRR's popular 9+1 program, or
take part on behalf of a charity such as NYRR's Team for Kids or one of our

Runners who earned guaranteed entry must claim their spot during the
month-long application window. Information regarding guaranteed entry is
available at tcsnycmarathon.org.
The non-guaranteed entry drawing is free to enter, and brings together
runners of all ages and abilities from around the world. Each person may
enter the non-guaranteed entry drawing once. The non-guaranteed applicant
drawing will be held on March 2, 2017.
Runners can also receive a guaranteed spot in the race by registering to
run for NYRR's Team for Kids. Team for Kids is the TCS New York City
Marathon's largest charity and raises funds for NYRR's free youth running
programs for kids who would otherwise have little or no access to regular
physical activity. More than 215,000 youth are served nationally through
NYRR's free youth running programs and events, including 115,000 in New
York City's five boroughs.

About the TCS New York City Marathon
The TCS New York City Marathon is the premier event of New York Road
Runners (NYRR) and the largest marathon in the world. Over 1,000,000 people
have finished the race since its first running in 1970 with just 127
entrants and 55 finishers running four laps around Central Park. The race
expanded to all five boroughs in 1976 and just celebrated its 40th year as

World Marathon Majors, which features the world's top marathons-Tokyo,
Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York-and crowns the top
