in the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon
MONTREAL, July 3, 2014 – Although there are still two months to go before
the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon, the event is almost full. Except
for the Marathon and the P'tit Marathon 1 km Tel-jeunes, which still have a
few spaces remaining, registration for the 5 km, 10 km and Half-Marathon
races has already closed. "The organization expects a record high turnout
for the 2014 edition," stated Dominique Arsenault, Marathon spokesperson.
The enthusiasm to participate shows just how much people value physical
activity, which delights us to no end."
The Marathon, which has been part of the Rock'n'Roll Marathon Series since
2012, offers a unique running experience that brings together people of all
ages, regardless of their level of training. According to Ms. Arsenault,
participants want to enjoy the race for many different reasons: "It may be
to meet a personal challenge, or to take part in the largest gathering of
runners in Quebec, or simply to satisfy their curiosity. Anything that
gives you that desire to cross the finish line is a good reason!"
The event welcomes participants from close to 50 countries in a friendly
and festive atmosphere. True to its concept, the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis
Montreal Marathon will present musical performances all along the route of
its various races, giving runners and supporters the opportunity to hear
local musical talent while running or cheering on September 28.
Registration for the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon's 42.2 km and 1
km races is still open and can be accessed at the following address:

About the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon
This year marks the 24th edition of the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal
Marathon. Organized by Festival de la Santé, in conjunction with Competitor
Canada, the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series is the world's largest running
series, with over 500,000 runners participating in events worldwide every
year. The series started in 1998 with the simple idea of making running
fun, and has transformed the running landscape by livening up the route
with live bands, cheer teams and entertaining water stations, creating a
block-party atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. Today, the
series of marathons and half-marathons has spread to more than 28
destination cities, drawing visitors from around the world. Over the
17-year history of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series, charity partners have
raised more than $300 million through the events for a variety of worthy
causes.
