COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 Great race, great course. The loop through Lambeau Field is really special. The towels and sponges on the course were a nice touch. I hope to do this race again.

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Efficient expo, pretty course, nice volunteers, getting to run inside Lambeau Field: priceless. Even the *weather* was nice (though a little warmer than I expected). This is racing the way you hoped it could be.

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 3 This was my first year at Cellcom. I read in previous threads that this was a flat, fast course! Far from the truth. Plenty of rolling hills, slippery path along the water. Nice to run for FUN, but not a P.R.-type course. The day is more for spectators.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 I enjoy doing this race every year. Great organization, frequent fluid stops, enthusiastic volunteers and the chance to run around the "frozen tundra." Superior post-race food. Do this race....

"Wonderful First-Time Experience!" (about: 2005)

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my first marathon and have to say I was impressed! The last 8 miles my legs felt like two anchors. My head was in a complete fog. The weather got into the 70's. Every step felt like I was running barefoot on concrete, but this marathon and the spectators made it SO worth it. I would come back again in a heartbeat. Even running along the trail on the river there were people cheering you on. 3 times I was handed GU and the water stations were so plentiful I passed a couple up. People were handing out bananas, oranges, cookies and candy along the course. And I can't tell you enough how wonderful it was to have people hand out wet washcloths along the trail and then wet sponges towards the end. Green Bay is definitely a marathon you should not pass up!

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 5 I thought this was a really nice race; the expo was well organized and the lines were quick, the support along the route was nice, and the hot weather was the only drawback. Of course, running through Lambeau Field... that experience speaks for itself. In addition, I really thought the people of Green Bay were wonderful. I'm looking forward to returning in the not-too-distant future.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 The course change was a welcome surprise. More time spent in neighborhoods would be even better. It was too hot for me this year, but I love the course and will be back next year.

"Best one of the five" (about: 2004)
6-10 previous marathons
| 4-5 Green Bay Marathons
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I have done the full marathon all five years. This year was definitely the BEST of the five. The new course was awesome. Having Lambeau at the end continually gave me something to look forward to. The volunteers were the real stars of the day. Those of us running were able to stay warm since we were moving. The volunteers had to stand around. Great job. The community support was also amazing considering the poor weather. I have never heard so many people banging pots and pans and cheering us on. As far as the organization, everything ran smoothly. The only place for a small improvement would be to have someone inside Washington Commons telling us what is going on. Hopefully we will never have to go through this again and that would be moot. Great job to everyone involved. I hope the event, and my participation, continues for years to come. |
