"Looks promising!" (General Comments)

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 This marathon looks promising. I must say that it appears that the organizers are putting some time and money into this race. I did the 'old' Las Vegas Marathon in January of this year and said I'd never do it again because of the course, the wind, the poor water stop organization (for slow runners like myself, 5 hours + or -) and that awful 'Ultima' for a sports drink, but I'm going to give it another try. Running the strip, Freemont Street, the expo seminar speakers, the apparent organization and Gatorade make another visit worthwhile, not to mention being in Vegas again.

"It's a new course! Give the organizers a chance." (General Comments)

COURSE: 3 ORGANIZATION: 3 FANS: 3 I ran the LV Marathon a few years back and enjoyed it. I don't care about crowds, I liked the open desert and some great watering holes when it was over. The new course for this year looks like a lot of fun.

"Not what I expected" (about: 2004)
3 previous marathons
| 1 Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon
COURSE: 2 ORGANIZATION: 2 FANS: 1 This was my 3rd marathon (New York twice). Very disappointed. Poorly organized (very few water stations, gel stations). Runners were actually drinking out of jugs of water because they ran out of cups. Boring as hell, could count on my hand the number of spectators out cheering. Never again, even if they changed the course for 2005. |
