COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Great organization! Aid stations were where I needed them. Fully staffed. The path was great. The start and finish line were fun. And the post race massage was to die for. The medals (race and endurance) are BEAUTIFUL and rank as my favorites ever!

"Wonderful run for first time half runners" (about: 2013)
First Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 5 This was my first half ever after completing a few smaller ones in the city. The people, supporters, organizers are all top notch. The view is also breath taking and I am ready to sign up for next year. I only wish I trained for more hills.

"Impressed by how well organized it was fantastic!!" (about: 2013)
First Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 So fantastic words cannot describe how fantastically this was organized. The support along sidelines as well as the personalization like people saying your name with words of motivation and chalk written motivational sayings along the path really pulled me though those last 5 mi of my marathon journey! Loved this marathon!!

"An amazing marathon with great course!" (about: 2013)
1 previous marathon
| 1 Fox Valley Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Loved this marathon for many reasons- beautiful course, easy to get to, very well organized. My only negative experience was the small path to run on around mile 14 & a little beyond, when we had to run on one side for the oncoming runners- I feel like the path was too small for that many runners. it was hard to pass people, to stay on the path, and to run my own race there.

"Lovely, flat, shaded race" (about: 2013)
11-50 previous marathons
| 2 Fox Valley Marathons
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 2 I have run this marathon 2 times now and enjoyed it both times. It is very shaded and run mostly by the Fox River so it's very pleasant. Organizers need to rethink having the 1/2 marathoners start at the same time as the marathoners as the wave start (groups of runners allowed to go every 30 seconds) really delayed us back-of-the pack people. Even though it's only 3000 TOTAL runners, it took 21 minutes for me to 'start' the race. Yes, it's chip timed, but you don't expect that kind of a wait in a smaller race.

"Half Marathon - Too many turnarounds/loops" (about: 2013)
1 previous marathon
COURSE: 2 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 There were too many 'mickey mouse' turns and loops. Crowds got in the way of seeing signage at the turn at mile 7.75. People were yelling TURN LEFT TURN LEFT. Never saw signs. This was my 7th Half Marathon, will not run this course again. |
