Incredibly well-organized event, lots of crowd support, amazing volunteers. Fast course with great traffic and police support. Will certainly be back next year!

This was such a great run! The organization and spectators were amazing. It felt like I knew everyone who was cheering me on. It's really special to run a race in a smaller community. The gummy bear stations were plentiful! And it was great that family/friends had easy access to spectator spots. Only complaint was the concrete roads on campus were hard on the legs.

Everything about this race was perfect! I had the best experience. This was my first half marathon race and it was totally worth the 5 months of training!!

"An exceptional example of planning and execution!" (about: 2011)

This marathon was exceptionally well planned and executed: from the advertising, to the consistent communication, to the course, to the medals, to the food! The balance is keeping the race small enough to be able to service the runners and make them feel their needs are meet, but yet still keep the race large enough to attract the community! Job well done!

"Not too bad." (about: 2011)

I ran the full marathon with my husband for the first time. For the first 4-5 miles, we were happy with the number of spectators and all the cheering, which put us in a good mood. However, the moment the course split, the number of spectators cheering declined considerably. We had a fairly quiet run for a very long distance, especially the part in Bryan, which made the run boring and quite exhausting. Mostly the only people who were present to cheer for us were the aid station volunteers. We were hoping that we would see some more support towards the last few miles, but that was hardly the case. I believe that organizers should try to get more support for full-marathon runners than half-marathon runners, especially for the last 6 miles, because it's so much more challenging for the runners to finish the full marathon. Furthermore, when we finished, C&J's BBQ was out of beer and there was no gatorade either. We got some water, but we could have used some gatorade at that point.
On the other hand, we are really grateful for the people who took the trouble to volunteer at the aid stations and to come out and cheer for us, even though they were not as numerous as we anticipated. I guess it was the best we could expect for an inaugural race for a small town like BCS on a cold day like yesterday. We may not have been able to complete without all the support. Thank you!

"This was a great, fast, FUN marathon!" (about: 2011)

Chris Field and the rest of the organizers did an amazing job with this marathon! It's hard to believe it was just the first year! The volunteers, water stations, traffic support, etc. were top notch. I'd venture to say it was better, even, than some of the large Texas marathons (half and full)! I can't wait for next year and highly recommend it to any and all!

I feel so blessed to have been part of this inaugural race. The race director and volunteer team made everything run so smoothly. I truly appreciate their attention to every detail. The course was great, the water stations were well stocked, the spectators were very encouraging, and the finish line was awesome. Thank you so much for putting this race on. I cannot wait for next year!
