First Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 This was my first full marathon and it was really put together well. I've done numerous other organized races of less distances and this was by far the most organized. The race also benefits a great cause.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 4 It was cold. But it was awesome. I wouldn't trade that experience for the world. Friendly spectators and fellow runners, PERFECT course, very well thought out and set up. The water stations were well stocked and placed well.

"Fantastic smaller race with a lot of heart" (about: 2013)
3 previous marathons
| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Appreciate all the updates on Facebook and email communication. This was a well-organized run with wonderful volunteers with a great cause. Despite the temperatures in the 30's, people stood out and wildly cheered for hours. As a former Aggie, I loved seeing all the student organizations and nostalgically running through the campus. My only complaint was the lack of marathon pace group represented. In the corrals I saw 4:00, 4:15, and then 5:15. Despite this detail, I manage to meet and run with some friendly strangers. This run is unique in the many small details, which includes homemade brownies, a very present race director, allowing last-minute deferral opportunities, opening up extra spots when the Dallas marathon cancelled, and allowing the final marathoners to finish despite going over the 6:30 time limit. Great maathon to finish 2013. This was my first BCS and I hope to make this race a new tradition!

"If only all races were this well-organized!" (about: 2013)

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my first half marathon and it was a blast! A friend who had done several marathons and half-marathons told me this was the best of the Texas races and a great one to try as my first half. It was well-organized, well-attended but not overly congested with runners, had an interesting course, good crowds and signage, great after-party and nice shirts and medals. It was everything I hoped for in a half-marathon and I'll be back.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 The organization does a great job spotlighting the charities that it raises money for. So glad to see the impact that the fundraiser has on the lives that it touches. The race also focuses on the participants I felt a great sense of community. No one is every left behind. Everyone is safe with the outstanding volunteers and medical crew. The spectators were fantastic considering the harsh weather! The spectators and volunteers cheered me when I needed them the most. The start and finish were easy to get to. The food was excellent. The course showcased the BCS area well. Overall, I would run this race every year!

"If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would." (about: 2013)
2 previous marathons
| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I am a resident of College Station and had heard many great things about the race and was able to run the half this year for the first time. I not only wasn't disappointed but was shocked at the greatness of this race. It was without a doubt the best organized race I have ever been involved in from beginning to end. The weather was questionable and the organizers were nothing short of amazing the way they kept everyone informed. The morning of the race was below freezing and I wasn't expecting even close to the spectator turnout that was along the race route. The after race vendors, live music and everything else was top notch. All of this pales in comparison to the charities that benefited from the race. I will have this race on my schedule from now on.
