"Good race... good times... will be a repeater" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 4

After training for 6 months...I knew that I was going to run this race no matter what. This being my first marathon, I highly anticipated this event. It lived up to my expectations. The weather was fantastic (I ended up with a great farmer's tan :) ). There was ample fan support, and the race itself was organized excellently. Both race participants and supporters were very friendly. There were many different pacing teams which were clearly denoted, and the nice scenery was an added bonus. The course was fast and generally flat, however, the last 6 miles was a bit grueling (besides the obvious) because it was a big 'U'. Great finish spot... lots of hoopla. I will definitely recommend and run this race again.

"God bless the volunteers" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

This was my first marathon and although quite the challenge, I
enjoyed it tremendously. Hats off to the organizers and the volunteers. If
you get the chance please share with them my thoughts. When you are
participating in such a grueling test of physical endurance it is hard to
smile and be thankful but I want all who helped to know that without them we
could not make it. From the start to those handing out water, juice, etc.,
it was a life saver for me. I truly am grateful for their efforts. It made
mine easier. God bless them! They really made all the difference in the
world to me!

Thanks again volunteers.

"Boston Qualifier" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

My husband did great in the marathon, took two
minutes off his personal best and qualified for Boston. He may do Boston, too early to tell.

Keep us in mind to volunteer next year. He said he never saw so much good support per runner in any marathon he had run before. This was his 10th!

"My NJ Marathon story" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

Thank you.

I wanted to thank you for a wonderful marathon. I personally got injured at mile 20 with a knee problem but was able to keep running at a slower pace. However, I did fall at mile 25 and hurt my chin quite badly. Someone from the volunteers actually ran the last 1.2 miles with me as I was bleeding because I wanted so badly to finish the race, and I did. Slower than my usual time, I came in at 4:23, but considering the knee injury and the bad cut I had on my chin, it was an accomplishment.

Your medical volunteers were wonderful, and the volunteer 'Jessica' at mile 25 who ran in with me was an angel. I don't know how to thank her, but she was the reason I was able to finish the marathon.

Thanks again. I hope I can do the race again next year.

"A First Class Marathon" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 3

Of the many marathons I have run, NJM was the one that I had the most fun
running. Everything was done first class. The thrill of running in Boston is wonderful, but NJM is second to none in terms of all the details that runners appreciate.

Thanks for the experience.

"Classy Marathon" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 4

Everything about your event is classy. I tell everyone I know who runs marathons to consider the New Jersey Marathon. I've run NY, Marine Corps, Disney, and San Diego Rock n' Roll, and your organization has no competition at all. While I was injured and could not train for this one - my longest run
was 5 miles (5:39 finish time - my worst ever!), I could not miss it. I hope to return next year. Thank you for everything!

"Marathoning Comeback - Highly Recommended " (about: 2003)

This was my first marathon in five years and I was very impressed with both the course and the organization of the race.

"My First" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 4

I had to send a word of thanks to the organization and all of the volunteers that made my first marathon both successful and enjoyable. On a day with
temperatures much warmer than I would have liked I never had trouble
finding water when I needed it. This was also my first race in 20 years
and was a little nervous, but the atmosphere at the start area, along
with good instructions, got me to the starting line on time and ready to
run. There were encouraging words all the way and people to help me
recover at the finish. Thanks again for the great effort by you and your
team! Looking forward to next year - and a new PR!

T. H. from USA (5/2/2003)
"My PR" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

The two folks pacing with me helped me to a PR of 3:40:40. This was my 11th marathon and up until now, Philly 2000 had been my best (3:42:09). It sure beat the hell out of last year's race for weather. I had a great time. Depending on my schedule, I'll be back next year.

"Official Pacer lauds marathon" (about: 2003)

COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 4

I had a great time and enjoyed being a pacer. The New Jersey Marathon is a very well run race..... and I've run 45 marathons so I have a lot to compare it with. Keep up the great work!
