Thanks Chicago, I'll be back. Just graduated college running XC and track for years... and I never thought I could find a replacement. But the Chicago Marathon proved me wrong. It was a blast!!

It's all been said, and I'll say it once more--no one does it more organized or more friendlier than Chicago; no one.

Crowds were incredible (as usual), the race started on time (as usual), there was plenty of water and Gatorade--(measured the same, spot-on at EVERY stop) and cheerfully served (as usual), mile markers and clocks were posted well (as usual), there was easy access to and at the expo (as usual), monitored and efficient corral management (as usual), and local media and citizens knew that the marathon was in town (as usual). This race has no peers and they never take their success for granted; they work hard to make your weekend as enjoyable as possible.

This was my 9th Chicago and 40th overall; it's the race I continue to repeat over and over. Sign up early--they sold out all 40,000 slots by May this past year.

Thanks to Carey, the army of volunteers and the folks of Chicago!

First-rate organisation all round. Great expo, with convenient shuttles bringing folks in and out. Collecting the packs were a breeze. On race day it was a little crowded, but hey, with 30,000+ runners, and attending supporters, what do you expect? Nice, flat course, but a little twisty in parts. Nicely stocked water stops - never had any trouble getting the Gatorade. The supporters, MAN, they were great! This was only my second marathon but I doubt it can be topped.

The best crowd support you could ever hope for! Enthusiastic spectators three-deep along the route from beginning to end kept me motivated through every mile. It was as if the entire city came out to cheer us on. What an unbelievable experience! The route takes you through all the wonderful city neighborhoods - from Lincoln Park to Chinatown to the Southside and more. With great volunteers and many aid stations, Chicago has it all. If you're looking for a big-city marathon, I can't imagine you would find a better one than Chicago.

Wow! Unless you've run a poorly organized race its difficult to appreciate how well of a job the whole Chicago group does. Although the weather this year was brisk (41 and a stiff wind), the crowd support every step of the way helped me to forget about the chill. Plenty of port-o-pots helped calm my nervous bladder, plenty of liquids along the course. Couldn't ask for a better race. Also, transport to and from the race on the CTA buses was great. If you plan on coming from out of town, book a hotel EARLY and be prepared to fork over about $300/night to stay downtown. Also, I believe the race sold out in August this year, so another reason to plan ahead

Great crowds, but very crowded on the course. If you're trying to run 3:10 or under, be sure to get to the start early. You can waste a lot of energy passing people in this busy race.

Despite a windy 40 degrees, this was amazing.... fabulous crowd support the entire way... Gatorade, Water, and Gu and the workers were fabulous... flat and fast -- I ran 30 seconds better per mile than I did in any of my training runs. Afterwards, the massage people were excellent -- my IT band was killing me, plus I think I had hypothermia, and they couldn't have been more helpful. I'd give this race 10 stars if I could.

My husband didn't want to run such a large race, but I talked him into it. Now that he's finished it (and PR'd in under 4 hours) he says this is his favorite of the four we've done. I wanted to run Chicago because I grew up nearby (Kenosha) and have fond memories of the city and of my beloved Cubbies. Instead of wearing my name, I affixed about 10 Cubs stickers to myself and trotted through 26.2 miles of fabulous music, wonderful neighborhoods, and incredibly supportive crowds for a leisurely 5:04 finish. I wondered if they were cheering for me or for my team when I heard over and over, 'Go Cubbies!' Despite the cool temperatures and fierce winds, I loved every step. This city knows how to put on a race! My only complaint is that at the expo, I was so excited to see that I had made it in time to hear John Bingham speak, but the speaker before him went over into John's time and John had to leave for the pasta feed so I never did get to hear him. Maybe at another race. But the spectators made up for it a googlefold. Thanks to all of you for coming out and standing around cheering us on in the cold, especially those of you who waited around for slowpokes like myself.

The Chicago Marathon is truly world-class. It had the best expo, best organization, best volunteers, and a great course. The city outdid itself with hospitality, and everything was so convenient. Thank you, Chicago, for a wonderful experience.

Organization is excellent... and they know how to make 35,000 runners happy. Everything from the start, to the finish line, to the food was extremely well organized. Spectators were FANTASTIC!! I'll be back.
