"Super - flat and lovely!" (about: 2010)

I loved it. It was my first full marathon - I have done Shep half 2 previous times. Like the adapted course and thought the significance of more runners this year shows the club is doing the right thing. I love small, local events - everyone supported each other. It was great!

"enjoyed the river run" (about: 2009)

I enjoyed this run. It was my second marathon (and the first in my sixties). The smallish field made it a bit lonely at times, but that means more time for reflection! Very friendly organizers.

"Great local event" (about: 2007)

4-5 previous marathons | 1 Shepparton Marathon

I really enjoyed this race (I did the half marathon). It is organized by the local running club and also includes a half marathon and 10K. About 40 people did the marathon and about 70 did the half marathon. The marathon course is 3 loops, run on a combination of walking paths, roads, and some gravel track. The event was well organized with plenty of water and sports drink. This is a real small town marathon so don't expect spectator support or any other frills. However you get to run through the bush by the river, the air is clean and the marshals are supportive. A very enjoyable run that I hope to do again.
