   Chesto, Folcik-Welts win Cape Cod Marathon (Cape Cod Times)
Chesto, 44, hit the gas after returning to downtown Falmouth, where the race started and finished, and beat Lee Danforth, 37, of Norwood by 43 seconds after Danforths right hamstring seized up and took him out of the hunt for the 26.2-mile races title and the top prize of $500.

The first time was a charm for Mike Fisher in the 31st Dunkin' Donuts Cape Cod Marathon. With balmy 65 degree temperatures at the start of the race at 8:30 a.m., the 24-year-old Brookline resident finished well ahead of the pack yesterday, with a winning time of 2 hours 33 minutes and 12 seconds in his first-ever marathon. In the women's race, 27-year-old Heidi Westerling, of Acworth, N.H., won for the fourth straight year with a time of 2 hours 50 minutes and 43 seconds.

Heidi Westerling had an especially good day at the Cape Cod Marathon yesterday. In addition to her women's open division championship — her third straight — the Acworth, N.H., resident got to enjoy her boyfriend riding his bike around the course, her parents holding the finish-line tape for her arrival in 2:45.51 and her father handing her the first-place medal.
