Kenya dominates Forty Country Race at Monaco Marathon
(IAAF.org) Sunday's 11th Annual Monaco Marathon was won by Geoffrey Mutai from Kenya with a time of 2 hours and 12 minutes. Over forty countries were represented in the race with Kenyans claiming the top three mens spots and Russia claiming the top three womens spots in a race that dashed through France and Italy. | ||

A new departure for the Monaco Marathon
(IAAF) The 2008 International Monaco Marathon, also known as the Marathon de Monaco et des Riviera which encompasses no fewer that three countries, will change its start line to the boulevard Albert I which is the start of the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. Top elites in the field include Patrick Chumba Kimeli, Henry Tarus, Folisho Tum Tuko and Girmay Ayane Kidanu in the men's field. The women's elite field will see Jeanna Malkova and Maria Fedosseeva challenge the fastest woman in the field, Elizabeth Chemweno. | ||

For the first time in years, Kenya's Ibrahim Mitei 2:15:35 fell only second place to Tadesse Hailemariam 2:14:09, of Ethiopia.
