This race was fantastic! Tons of support from the Missoula community during the race and awesome course! I loved the fireworks at the beginning before the race start and when the start line gun shot off! I would recommend this race to anyone!

This race is scenic and beautiful for the entirety of the 26.2 mile run, the town is incredibly supportive, and the tracking app is phenomenal.

Great pre race expo and fun 5K beer run. Well organized from expo to post race. Buses to start line prompt and starting area was well organized. Course was beautiful and only one mild hill at mile 14. GREAT spectator support throughout. Small town experience with very friendly people.

"Gorgeous scenery & incredible community" (about: 2019)

Gorgeous scenery aside (it's beautiful!), this race is incredibly well organized: plenty of generously-stocked aid stations, easy parking near the busses, great finish line, & awesome pre-race expo. The cherry on top, though, was the level of community support. Along almost the entire course were local people cheering you along. There were musicians galore (classical pianist!, guitars, banjos, percussion, rock bands, DJs, etc etc). And once we got into town, almost every neighborhood had their own refreshment tables offering you fun items (some of the noteworthy things were: Scandinavian fish, fireball shots, sodas, chilled fruit, mimosas, gummy bears, etc). The runners felt truly welcomed by the community. When we (finally) got to the finish line, we were cheered in with mighty encouragement. Then there was a free beer

"Wonderful course, well supported, well organized" (about: 2019)

This race was well organized and is the best support I've ever experienced. Coffee at the start, water and snacks. Aid stations every 2 miles with port a potties. The course is almost entirely flat. Drop bag option at the start too. This race had pretty much everything you could look for in a race.

This was also my personal worst for a race. I had serious stomach issues from miles 10-19 and I am really grateful for the support. I finished the race in spite of being sick through most of the middle. I would absolutely recommend this race.

,,, and was happy for it.

The good folks of Missoula were out in force with sprinklers and other much-appreciated cooling devices as the course made its way into town and the temperatures began to rise. Not as many spectators in the sparsely populated first part of the race, but the ones that were there were enthusiastic, including the two gents on horseback who were calling out 'Welcome to Montana' greetings to out-of-state runners.

Great organization with superb post-race feast. Alas, I had to jump into a car for the long trek back to Indiana so I didn't stay very long, but it was long enough to savor some Moose Drool.

Echoing suggestions of others, add time before or after to visit Glacier National Park. It's stunning.

This race is GREAT! Highly recommend! Very organized, fun, beautiful, and amazing. We planned our vacation around this run. It was awesome. The organizers, volunteers, spectators, runners, and community were all very friendly. The route was gorgeous! We ran the 1/2 marathon. You have to run in one of these races!!! Either the full or 1/2!

These people know how to put on a race. I've run over 30 marathons and this is one of the best organized I've done. The volunteers were great. The pacers were spot-on. Special kudos to the 4 hour pacer who was the perfect mix of encouraging and supportive without being one of those who chatters nonstop. Post-race food was good. The free photo was a nice bonus. The course was well marked and, except for one hill, surprisingly flat. I definitely recommend this race.

"Lovely But Historically Warm" (about: 2018)

The race is SUPER well organized. As race directors, that is something my husband & I look for, and we certainly found that here!! The course is beautiful, but be warned, the temperatures tend to be on the warm side and there really isn't a lot of shade at all. The most shaded portion is during the large hill in the middle. Uphill incline to it and then steeper (in mile 14), then rolling, then downhill (my fastest mile was mile 16). You get dappled shade up there AND a beautiful view of the valley below. After this, when you do get any shade, it is off & on in a variety of residential areas. Lots of turns in the last 6 - 7 miles of the course. I really suffered in the heat and direct sun, and I am from Florida. So go to enjoy, Missoula is a fantastic & lovely town, visit Glacier National Park if you have traveled a long way for a few days. Just be prepared for heat and sun.

Although this is my hometown marathon, I am still in awe at how awesome the entire race weekend is. The marathon course is beautiful from start to finish. It is very well organized with extremely friendly volunteers to make the race experience as great as it should be. I am spoiled to have this race right in my backyard!
