"Life-changing" (about: 2011)

First Marathon
COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 4  FANS: 4

I cannot believe this race was organized, and a Boston qualifier no less, in just 7 months! It was a huge economic benefit to the Bryan-College Station community, and I was so proud to see the support from city officials and employees, and the super-smooth organization by Chris Field and his army of volunteers. The B-CS area is mostly flat, and I think having the route run through neighborhoods and off of major roads limited traffic disruptions and provided more opportunities for community support. To be honest, I ran the half not the full, but the full and half shared the course for a good portion of the distance.

This race was very well organized. Weather was cool and allowed me to post a PR. Volunteers, police and crowds were universally friendly and supportive; the 'Howdy' spirit of Texas A+M really shines through. Good swag, great medal, I will definitely be back next year. This race is likely to become a favorite with in and out of state runners in no time.

I completed the 1/2 marathon. Everything was well organized from the beginning in registration to the end crossing the finish. Volunteers & spectators were great.

"Very good race!" (about: 2011)

First Marathon
COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 4  FANS: 3

The course was awesome and it seemed shorter than 26.2 miles. The water/Gatorade stations ever 1.5 miles and markers for every mile was about as ideal as possible. Wished it would have gone through more of the neighborhoods in Bryan, and pace groups, but it's by far the best race I've ever been in. Landslide. The parking was as easy and hassle-free as it gets.

Well organized and executed race! The course was really pretty, and flat! Huge bonus! Praise to all of the volunteers, medical team, grandmas, and race organizers for a well planned event. Next year is going to be a challenge for you guys because the bar has been raised really high, and we only expect the same next year. Can't wait!

I have competed in many athletic events from MTB to Adventure racing, running, and cycling. The BCS Marathon and Half Marathon has to be one of the best organized events I have ever participated in. Thanks

"great race for being year one!" (about: 2011)

The only thing I would change would be the addition of pace runners for each race. We never found pace folks during our 13.1 mile race, and they would have been super helpful to keeping us on track!

"This race was a well organized, beautiful run." (about: 2011)

I ran the 1/2 marathon but I would run it twice to make the full but just over a two year span. :) The course was awesome. It was a perfect race and really can't give any other changes. It was perfectly planned. There was lots of water stops and the crowd support was great. I really enjoyed this race. It was my third 1/2 and I would do it again. I liked this much more than the Rock n' Roll I did. I loved the course and the medal was Awesome! The BBQ, beer, and hat were a nice added perk.
