COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my second year running the BCS marathon. The race director goes above and beyond making sure everyone is informed and posts daily messages on fb filled with support and motivation. I've never had a need in this race. They thought of every little detail. This year I finished injured and as soon as I crossed the finish line I was swooped up by a medical team and given first class treatment. ALL proceeds for this race go to the Mercy Project and The Down Syndrome Association. I was inspired every foot strike of the way and plan on running this race for years to come.

"great crowd support" (about: 2011)
4-5 previous marathons
| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I did not expect as much crowd support as their was. Loved running familiar routes that i grew up on. Loved the aid stations, added salt in the gatorade on the last few stations. Really helped me get thru.

"Terrific Inaugural Marathon" (about: 2011)
11-50 previous marathons
| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 If you're looking for a small, well organized event you'll love BCS! This year's inaugural event was a lot of fun. The race was capped at 500 full marathoners and with the half split early, there were some lonely stretches. For a small race the spectators were great. Pros: Planning, communication and organization was top notch. Packet pickup was organized with a local running store selling all necessary last minute items. Aid stations every 1.5 miles were consistent with great volunteers! Gummy bear stations were a fun addition! Traffic control/course monitors were unbelievable! Very supportive, even in the few high traffic areas. Fantastic signs for several miles where there weren't a lot of spectators. Port of potty's every couple of miles Beer and bbq coupons provided to runners at the finish line, didn't sound good to me but nice to have. Plenty of parking close to start/finish Course was rolling and scenic Suggestions: There were not women's cut finisher shirts and the finish line food was depleted by half marathoners, but this happens in a lot of events. With the on course support being phenomenal I can't complain!

"Fantastic small marathon. Will run again." (about: 2011)
11-50 previous marathons
| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 Very well organized race. Easy starting line logistics, well stocked water stops and a well marked course. The course is mostly flat and relatively fast. We had very nice running weather this year as well. There was not a lot of crowd support in some areas, but the enthusiasm of the volunteers made up for it. I plan to do this race again in the future. |
