COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my first full marathon. I appreciated how organized it was. And all of the pre-race communication via facebook and email was wonderful. The volunteers at the aid stations were great, keeping us hydrated and cheering us on. I will definitely be back next year.

"The BEST I could hope for on my first 1/2 marathon" (about: 2012)

| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This race was absolutely amazing from all aspects! Having daily updates and encouragement from the organizers on Facebook really helped keep me motivated and informed. I never once felt that I had no idea what to do come race day. The Expo was great, and all the vendors were nice and friendly. The course was a great mix of Bryan, College Station, and TAMU campus - I never got board with super-long stretches of the same road. That hill at the end was a killer, but it was worth it! I loved every minute of race weekend, and I'll definitely be back next year!!

"Great Race!" (about: 2012)

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 5 I am glad my first half marathon was back in my good ol'Aggieland :) I loved all the support from the crowds :) I would def. be back next year BUT please make sure to communicate the womens shirt size correctly. I asked for a small because I was under the impression it would fit but seriously the cut was made for like a 12 year old and I was not able to exchange it. OVERALL- I LOVE THE EXPERIENCE <3!!! THANK YOU!

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 The race was a lot of fun! The atmosphere was great, and all the supporters were wonderful! I would love to run this race again. One downside, there weren't enough port-a-potties! And they all had run out of toilet paper.. not fun!

"Best race in Texas" (about: 2012)
4-5 previous marathons
| 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This race is the best organized race out there and it benefits such great charities. I hope to be able to make it back down many more times. Pros: *The communication from the race director is top notch *Packet pick up was quick and easy *The course was great and aid stations very well stocked *There are not a ton of spectators on the course but the ones that are there are very supportive *The charities being supported by this race are amazing and change the lives of children *Lots of port o potties *After race spread is awesome *Race director actually stood at the finish line high fiving finishers *Started right on time, love the 7am start time. Cons: Can't think of any other than mother nature being unpredictable. Hot, humid conditions meant slower times for everyone but that is Texas for you. I guess that means I have unfinished business at BCS and will have to go back next year to work on that. You really just have to experience this race yourself b/c no one's words can do it justice. Love, love, loved it (except when I was hating life at mile 23 & mile 24 & mile 25, haha)!! |
