Well organized, and good communication/guidance. Excellent end of race food/drink. As well as sweatshirt and medal. Friends mentioned lack of porta johns on the course. One at each 'aid station' would be a good improvement for next year.

This is a great race and is sponsored by a great organization. The proceeds go to a fantastic organization that redeems children from slavery in Africa. I highly recommend this race

"Nice small race" (about: 2018)

This is a quaint, small race and you have to be focused on your game because there is no external excitement (virtually no crowd support, no entertainment or music, no natural beauty, too many pick up trucks belching diesel exhaust when the course is on live roads). The volunteers were great and friendly and the post race party was very good. The hoody sweatshirt was a great source of warmth following a chilly run.

Not knowing entirely what I was getting mysef in to this race made it easy to hatch a glimpse of the marathon running routine. Everything was amazing. The constant updates and information provided leading up to the morning of the race was a huge help. The race itself was all around a great experience. Being a student here in college station I loved running around the town to places I frequent. The traffic control was impeccable and they really helped focus on the runners to make sure no one got interrupted while running in more vehicle dense areas. The community that came out to support the runners were truly amazing with signs and motivation, the aid stations were placed well throughout the course, and the course was perfect without much change in elevation at all. Crossing to the finish line, it was great to see the massage tables available for runners - that helped a lot. The food and beverage option afterwards were great as well. If I decide to run a full marathon I would for sure choose this as my race.

"Great Race!" (about: 2018)

This was a very well organized race with a nice post party as well. The police were amazing and actually nice cheering folks on while directing traffic. My only complaint was the availability of bathrooms. I ran the 1/2 and only found a bathroom at mile 11. A friend of mine ran the full and couldn't find bathrooms either. A bathroom at the very end of the race isn't at all useful.

The BCS Marathon always does a great job of organizing. The race went off without a hitch. There were plenty of police out on the course controlling traffic and the course was well marked. The aid stations were frequent and well stocked. The finishers area is always great with plenty of food as well as beer for the finishers.

This is definitely a race that is geared toward the runner. The weather this year was fantastic for running and the flat course lends itself to fast times. I recommend this race often and will continue to do so in the future. I have run this event every year and plan to continue to do so going forward.

this was my first half, and i enjoyed the entire thing. i was laughing and smiling at all the energetic spectators the entire course, and the production of the event was perfect! everything went smooth and not a single thing in the entire process was confusing or difficult.

Really had a good time, not just a good run but really supportive fans and a good route too. Lots of good water points with snacks and all of the officers stopping traffic were extremely kind and supportive too! Big fan of the shirt and the sweatshirt and liked that they congratulated me with my name when I crossed the finish line

The event organizer, volunteers, and spectators are incredibly supportive. The large number of Baylor Scott and White medic tables made me feel more secure, and the volunteers seemed happy to be there. The route was great, traffic is well managed by the police, and College Station is an easy city for friends and family to navigate if they are cheering you on.

The answers below pertain to 13.1, and not the full 26.2 as I ran half only.
The course is easy to run, relatively flat (~70m elev gain only). Great organization from start to finish, along with the frequent water/replenishment stations.
Weather in 2018 was perfect for running - and the finish area with hoodies for finishers, breakfast tacos, hot choco, etc. was the best thing a runner can expect at the end!
