Please consider having a massage tent after the race. I always get one at the site after my full marathons and they greatly help in recovery. Also, offering the silver, terminal blankets, would be great too. Especially after this years race. Being soaking wet from the rain put me in a critical recovery stage when cooling down. I'd be happy to pay a little extra at registration OR maybe have a vendor selling them at the Expo. Really was not fully prepared for the elements this race.

After having watched the BCS Marathon for the past four years, I decided to make it my first full marathon. After 18 straight hours of rain I was sure they were going to cancel. But they didn't. They worked hard to make sure that we all were able to run our race in a safe manner. Koodos to the BCS Marathon team. I'll be back again next year!

This race was, and always has been, excellently organized and executed. The race director and team are awesome and communicate frequently and well. The course is flat and fast, the spectators are awesome.

"Simply amazing" (about: 2015)

Best running event without question that I have been a part of. Most importantly this event raises a ton of money for great children's charities. The organization of the event from start to finish is flawless. Updates and information about the race begin pouring in as soon as you are registered for the race. This year had some major challenges with the weather but the team kept everyone updated right until the gun went off. The entire staff is amazing. The aide stations are plentiful and stocked with anything you might need. Parking is very easy and convenient. Best swag bag in the business. Race director greets every runner at the finish line.
Not sure what else to say other than you must run this race. This year even started with fireworks.

I have run the BCS Marathon for the past 4 years, as well as several others. This race continues to be, BY FAR, my favorite! They handle weather conditions like champs and put the runners first. They knock on every door that the race goes by and get the community out to cheer us on. There are tons of cheer stations, water/gatorade stops, and first aide along the way. I even had my pic taken with Santa around mile 8! The after party is the best I have seen anywhere! The food is amazing! There is a variety of beer and they even have margaritas! I can't wait to run again next year. If you haven't ran this one, you're missing out!

First time for BCS..., will definitely do it again. The only disappointment was the shirt (not the finisher shirt). We (females) were given male shirts. I will never understand this. Do women not pay the same fee as men and women probably made up close to 50% of the participants...but we seem to get short changed in the shirt department.

Both last year and this year, my mom and I left the race talking about how amazing it was. From the spectators and cheer stations to the excellent food and water stops to the care from the aid stations, this course was extremely well stocked. I felt encouraged to keep going, whether walking or running. I brought a ton of snacks to get me through, but felt excellently fueled by the assortment of food/fuel offered (loved those cold bananas, brownies, and skittles!). I sipped on my own water, but was so grateful for the water handed out. There were plenty of potty stops, and at one particular stop, a sweet man was standing outside with extra toilet paper. That was SO AWESOME. Running out of toilet paper stinks! This year, the weather was crazy, but the directors kept us incredibly up to date with emails about the status. Despite cold and rainy conditions, the runners showed up, but the volunteers REALLY showed up. I so appreciate how hard everyone worked this Sunday to make this race happen. I want to keep coming back every year. And let's not forget what an amazing cause this race supports! I almost lost my breath when I turned the corner to see all those smiling faces of children who have been saved. It was an amazing way to end a race feeling both humbled and like a champion.

I've ran the BCS marathon once before, in 2013, as my first full. It's only improved since last time I was here - great organization, fun course, huge spectator involvement, amazing post-race food & beer - just a great time all around, even with the rainy weather this year. Would definitely recommend!

"My one 'must run' race every year" (about: 2015)

This race is very well organized, has incredible community & volunteer support, runs through the heart of Texas-friendly Aggieland and offers a relatively flat-ish (with two notable exceptions) course. I've run all 5 years and each finds a way to be better than the last. The starting fireworks were a great touch.
