The mass amounts of spectators/strangers cheering on runners at various locations was an incredible feeling and extremely encouraging. The amount of communication from the race director was great; constantly letting the volunteers and racers know what was going on with the race during the inclement weather. The runners I encountered on the course were so friendly and encouraging, helping push each other just a little further. Those extra talks and advice, and encouragement definitely helped me get to the finish line.
LOVED THIS GROUP OF AMAZING PEOPLE. Don't think marathon distance is for me but the experience was great regardless!

I've done the BCS marathon 5 years in a row (both half and full). I keep coming back because, yes it is local and convenient, but it's also the best race every year. The runners are ALWAYS #1 in the considerations of the directors. There are port-a-potties everywhere (no need to sneak off into the bushes). Excellent med stations at every water station (1.5 mi) Gu/brownies/oranges are on the half/full course. Swag is amazing (great participation and finisher shirts, and this year, MEE headphones). Constant feedback on social media and email on how the course is doing and whether the race is still on due to inclement weather. Post race food is fulfilling and abundant (plus beers and margaritas). The course takes you through out College Station and Bryan, including past Kyle Field (largest stadium in the SEC). Additionally, runners safety is always a consideration. One year, it was unseasonably warm, so they extended the race finishing time by an hour and found ice water/towels for everybody on the course. Another year, it was very cold, and the Dallas Marathon was cancelled due to ice, so BCS invited everybody down for our race (the 2 races are on the same day). The director himself runs in the last runner, no matter what. On that day, if you ran the race, they make you feel like you are #1, even if you didn't finish #1. And of course, to see all the smiling faces of the children freed from slavery at the last 0.1 mi is amazing, because being part of that race means you helped in some way.

The organization, execution, follow-up, volunteers, benefiting organizations, staff, runners' village, and everything else was amazing! Shout out to Sean from Marathon Maniacs for pacing the 4:30 group. He is awesome!

Soooo well organized, best supported race I've ever participated in by far. Plus, the start and finish line surprises were great! Amazing medals, fantastic shirts, great loot, and impressive communication before and after the race.

The race organizers were clearly committed 100% to providing an experience that is second to none. It truly provided value to the entry fee, and I will definitely be attending this event in the future.

The weather was a test for everyone involved with this race. The cheering was less than past years however given the weather it rocked. The officials are all about the runners and volunteers. Could not have been better.

This race is one that is incredible year after year. No matter the weather, or other curveballs thrown at them, the organizers always come through. I will definitely be back for next year, and recommend it for others.
